Outfit: Red Awareness

Greetings Fashionistas,

I need you all to know that I'm blessed. And no....I don't mean by how many materialistic items I purchase or trips I take.....I mean I'm blessed because God shows me sooooo much grace and mercy!!! Let's be real, we all fall short and we definitely take too much for granted in our lives, yet he's still there to lead and guide us every single step of the way. We are truly his beloved children! He's had to nurture us, carry us, teach us, punish us, while we continued to stray and disappoint him....... and through it all he still loves us......absolutely amazing! When I wake up to start my day, I am grateful for his favor and I am reminded that this is a new day, a new chance to be a better me. Simply put.....it's empowering.

I felt compelled to share this with you all today. I believe someone needed to read it because that was not how I initially started this post.

I wore the below outfit a couple Sundays ago to church and I was pleased to note that the dress still fit well. I bought this dress several years ago and this is the reason I stick to garments with classic cuts and minimal flourishes........they fit seamlessly into any new 'fashion season'.

I'm a member of the health ministry at my church and we recently promoted "Red Sunday". We encouraged everyone to wear the color red to raise awareness for heart disease. If you didn't know, February was heart disease awareness month.

The red band was actually given out the same Sunday to commemorate Black History Month.

I really should have paired a necklace with this look.....but I was running late and didn't think about it until I was halfway there! I am wearing earrings.....but I can't figure out how my over sized, black earrings would still manage to get lost within my hair.

Earrings (apparently invisible) - Street vendor
Belted Dress/Heels - Jessica Simpson Collection
Tank/Bracelet - Forever 21

Have a safe and wonderful weekend!

Ciao!

First off, thanks babe(because you were absolutely right someone did need to read that this morning)! Second, you're wearing that dress! She (Jessica) does a good job with the cut of her dresses etc. She's one of our vendors and she continuously does well season after season.

AMEN!!!!

And isn't it great when "old" items still fit well? I'm always so up and down in my weight that I haven't experienced that joy for quite some time. But I'm working on it!
