Greetings Fashion Friends,
The other day I won my very first contest on Polyvore! I am too excited. I created a set a while back then decided to enter it into a contest called "Striking Jackets". I received 1st place out of 360 entries.........who's bad? Check out my winning set below.
For this set, I decided to use a bold horizontal pattern for the "striking jacket" and then I complemented with a horizontal striped top. What adds interest to this outfit is the combination of super thin and wide stripes with a pop of color! The mini skirt is completely feminine, but then I decided to go edgy with a pair of leather boots to round out the look. I still plan to emulate this look, but of course it will have to be during the colder months. Jack Frost just stood us up this past winter so not many chances to rock winter gear this season.
Oh yea, I've been experimenting with wearing lipstick. Not a bold lip, but just enough color so I won't feel so washed out when I play dress up ;-) It's not too bad either. I'm such a louse when it comes to makeup. I don't even own a compact! Mascara and lip gloss are my friends. However, I have decided to step it up with a little eyeliner and lipstick every now and then. Baby steps people....baby steps.
Have a fab hump day!
Arrivederci!

How lucky :)
Very clever way of playing with different thickness of stripes for illusion effects.
Baby steps are good *thumbs up!
