Greetings Fashionistas,
Happy Friday lovers! TGIF!!!! I have been experiencing stress on the job, frustration with our judicial system and the corrupt men/women who run it (#IAmTrayvonMartin), as well as some minor fatigue (just can't seem to sleep well). I think I am in need of a staycation, or mini vacation. I'll take either one. But I'll be kicking it shortly so lemme calm my behind down. Things could always be worse, right?
Last night I attended the rally for a call to justice held for the Trayvon Martin case. Thousands were in attendance. Thank GOD!!! Rev. Al Sharpton, radio personality Michael Baisden, Judge Joe Mathis, and Martin Luther King Jr, III were just a few notable names on the platform this past evening. I got there late and had to walk about 1 1/2 mile to get to the city park where the rally was held. It was a sight to see and I'm so glad I went because I know that we can make a difference for our children and honor the memory of this young man whose life was taken from him too soon. But we must continue to be vocal, keep the peace, and make our presence known to those who perpetuate injustice in our communities.
But on a side note.....some of the women I saw last night actually had on heels. What in tar-nation were they thinking????? I know I usually overdress when I go out, but good grief, even I now that a pair of jeans, sandals/sneakers, and a tee is all you need to sport at a rally for justice!!! Now, I will say there were a ton of handsome men out there but that wasn't what we were there for. SMH. Well, earlier that day, prior to the event, I went shopping at the mall for a couple of items. I wore another spring/summer wardrobe staple that you will be seeing a lot of in the upcoming months. I will try my best to make the garment more interesting each time I wear it :-)
Arrivederci!

I am glad to hear the rally was successful. I hope Zimmerman gets his trial soon. We are refusing to let this situation die!
And I have wondered the same thing while being at picnics in the park and outdoor concerts that last for several hours about women in heels. I wear heels quite often, but there is no way I'm going to a rally or outdoor event where I have to stand up all day in heels. My fallen arches just would not tolerate that! lol
Have a fab weekend, girlie!
