Greetings Fashion Pad Readers,
Happy Monday! How was your weekend? I hope it was good. I spent some time with my fabulous uncle who had to have emergency surgery. He had surgery last Thursday, was up walking on Saturday, and went home in time for the Superbowl. God is so good!!! And, our team won! Go GIANTS!!! That was such an exciting game. We fought hard and let's just say I'm glad my risky bet of $5 bucks paid off, LOL. Yay me! But seriously, to the team and my fellow NY Giant fans, congrats!
Today I'm recapping my outfit I wore to church yesterday. I'm making sure that I make you aware of a very important project that is very dear to me.....
Arrivederci!

At church, we were asked to wear red in honor of National Heart Month. Did you know that heart disease is the #1 killer of women in the United States? One in four women dies of heart disease. I'm on the health ministry at my church and we decided to implement "Red Dress Sunday" to increase awareness of this group of diseases. Heart disease is more prevalent among African-American women than Caucasian women. Factors that increase the risk include high blood pressure, obesity, and diabetes. I sincerely implore you to take care of yourselves NOW!
Haaa! This is my disheveled look after my twirling, LOL! My mom shortened this dress for me because I did not care for the midi length it was previously. Made me look like a little girl playing dress up. And no, I'm not linking back to that post. Smh
Obviously, I do not own a conservative red dress so I had to bring out my red accessories.....got to find a red dress at the thrift store (I'm trying to increase my "thrift" purchases).
I don't know how I managed to smile with these evil heels on. I swear they fought me tooth and nail from the moment I got into my car (go figure) until I got home from church. Let's be clear, I LOVE fashion. However, my style does not include pain....I repeat, my style does not include pain. As a result, these heffas will be in the next family yard sale.

You look fabulous! I like that you opted to wear red accessories since you didn't have a red dress. I'm very glad you shared your support for such a wonderful cause. We women have to take care of ourselves and take care of each other by spreading the word and sharing information (especially health-related).
Lovely post, diva!
