Style Challenge - Versatile Combat Boots

Greetings Fashion Mavens,

I realized that I have not done a style challenge in a while. It's going on months people. So no one thought it prudent to request it???? Geesh you guys should not settle from the same 'ol stuff from me. I can switch it up happily ;-)

So today's challenge incorporates the combat boot below.

Steve Madden Troopa Boot

No matter how you style this boot, it's going to impart an edgy, tough look to any outfit. But don't fret, you can always underwhelm the style by playing it down with frilly, feminine garments or accessories.

This style slightly mimics the grunge trend of the 1990s. I left out the flannel and black eyeliner, but the slouchy shirt, distresed denim, spike bracelets, and of course, combat boots create a strong comparison.

Nothing screams girly like a floral mini dress. I would belt the dress and throw on a blazer to make this outfit appear pulled together.....as if the boots belong.

I love smart most outfits appear when you add a pair of chic glasses and a striped cardigan. Can we say casual prepster? The combat boots would definitely be a stretch but the other elements contribute to the country club inspiration.

The flannel had to be an option....besides, combat boots and flannels go back to the days of Davey Crockett! Just saying. Rock some glam sunglasses, a neat little knit hat, and bright red lipstick to make this classic look more stylish.

Hmmm...sorry for the lack of bright colors and the denim brigade used to create these sets. They appeared soooo diffrent when I was setting up the post. Haaa!

Arrivederci!

These are pretty cool. I would have liked to see more colors and patterns used. But still, good job.
