Hunter Dixon E-Commerce Launch

Greetings Fashion Friends,

I want to share a new E-Commerce launch I received info on with you all. See below.

Hunter Dixon, the feminine and flirtatious contemporary fashion line, announces the much-anticipated launch of their online store, www.HunterDixon.com on July 15, 2010. The site will be the only outlet where consumers will be able to preview the entire Hunter Dixon collection including items exclusively online.

Co-founded by Southern Belles Hunter Bell and Jennifer Dixon in 2009, the New York-based company began with hard work and determination and has established itself as a rising talent in the fashion industry. Each collection is filled with bold colors, unique detailing and abstract prints. Consisting of sleek pants, structured dresses, tailored jackets and classic blouses, Hunter Dixon is a brand where sensible simplicity meets metropolitan style.

Continuing to grow its position in the contemporary marketplace, Hunter Dixon plans to unveil e-commerce just in time for fall 2010. “We are in nearly 100 boutiques nationwide and select Saks Fifth Avenue locations, but there are certain essential blouses and pieces that we want everyone to be able to purchase, regardless of the selection a store in their city may carry. We also have seen such a surge in web shopping, we wanted to get on board and drive traffic to our website,” explained Dixon . “Creatively, we re-launched our website at the end of 2009. Our idea for a new site was to draw our customers eye straight to the clothes by designing each page with a very clean look. The same fresh element of design plays a role in the launch of e-commerce. We feel that fans of Hunter Dixon have been able to connect to our brand better with the new website and hope e-commerce will have the same achievement", added Bell.

Fans of the Hunter Dixon brand have been anxiously awaiting the launch of e-commerce since their debut collection. However, it wasn’t until the website began to generate a lot of traffic via social media such as Facebook, Twitter and recent press placements that the brand was able to establish an e-commerce presence.

Recognizing how essential and versatile blouses can be to a women’s wardrobe, Hunter Dixon will be debuting their “Blouse Program” on the website. This collection will consist of the line’s signature silk blouses and will initially be offered in eight classic styles and color ways. The program will continue to evolve each season with the addition of exclusive colors and prints for their online store.

The Hunter Dixon site will feature innovative and user-friendly features creating a shopping experience true to the brand. Shoppers will be able to keep a customer account page that will provide the ability to manage their personal information, review past orders, and reorder the same items with just a few clicks. Shoppers can also take advantage of the “wish list” function and provide Hunter Dixon with requests for new blouse colors. If a specific color is requested up to seven times the new color will be added to the current assortment. In addition, www.HunterDixon.com will offer web exclusive prints, styles and colors, a user friendly sizing chart, celebrity favorites, and seasonal colors. As a growing company, the site will make it easier for loyal customers to shop for their favorite brand.

Backstory: Three years ago, Hunter Bell and Jennifer Dixon were two Southern belles sharing an apartment in New York . Bell wanted to be a designer; Dixon , an entrepreneur. They partnered, dispensed with any romantic rags-to-riches notions and approached things pragmatically: Bell took a day job at a hedge fund while whipping up a collection on the side, and Dixon pounded the pavement, securing a few retailers and pitching potential investors. Their hard work paid off: In October, one of the financiers Bell worked with set Dixon up with venture capitalist John Pound, president of Boston ’s Integrity Brands Inc., which is investing in the fledgling line.

Collection: Bell’s inspiration comes from her own closet or what she would like to see in it. At present, that’s loads of color and feminine flourishes done within reason. Dresses and tanks have ruffled details and vibrant prints, but Bell and Dixon are tuned into a working woman’s reality, which often entails day-to-night transitions and usually travel. Thus, they have a custom-blouse program of eight styles available in eight colors that always include black and white. “Basically, after our first collection we found that blouses were the bestsellers,” says Dixon . “You can take them with you anywhere and wear them anywhere.”

Stats: Prices range from $175 to $250 for blouses and $200 to $450 for skirts, jackets and dresses. The collection is available at Saks Fifth Avenue as well as specialty boutiques nationwide.
