Reader Request - Valentine's Day

Greetings Fashion Pad Mavens,

Well ladies and gents, I'm back in the O, and I'm also back to reality. I have a ton of work to get done. On the bright side, I had a wonderful trip, and of course I will post pics but for some reason I really didn't take a lot of shots this past extended weekend. I don't know what was going on but I just couldn't seem to capture the true essence of Superbowl weekend. Actually, now that I think about it, I probably was too busy staring at all the Saints' fans and the elaborate parties they were throwing on Ocean Drive (on South Beach). They were hilarious and eccentric to put it mildly, lol.

Anyhew, I want to share this interesting reader request from Liz I received regarding Valentine's Day.

Hey Fashion Pad,

My boyfriend and I are trying to do something different for Valentine's Day. We want to go to the famous Cedar Point Amusement Park in Ohio. At first I was a little weary as I'm sure it's going to be freezing trying to enjoy ourselves on the famous roller coaster rides but I decided it'll be a great way to snuggle up to each other. So can you help me find a really cute, casual Valentine's outfit. I need to feel like I'm representing on that day in a super casual, comfortable, red and black outfit.

Thanks,

Ok Liz, I'm up to the challenge. I think I'm going to go with the sweater and jeans combo so you'll be warm and comfortable as you're out and about. If you're going to Ohio I'm sure you know it'll be quite chillyso I decided to not include a jacket, scarf, and gloves. I just focused on the outfit. Not sure how they handle their amusement parks, but I hope you both get a chance to experience it. Take a look below.

I hope this gives you a good start. Make sure you add a couple layers of long-sleeved tees under the sweater and rock your tights under the jeans. Please let me know if you want to go in a different direction and by all means.....have fun!!!

TTFN!

Hi Shanequa,

Thanks for the outfit idea. It's going to be in the 20s so we're thinking we may need an alternative if the park decides to close. Hey maybe we'll go to Disney World instead. I haven't been there in about 5 years.
