Reader Request - Dinner with the Parents

Greetings Fashion Divas,

I have a reader request from Sarah. Check it out!

Dear Fashion Pad,

I have a dinner to attend with my boyfriend and his parents on Friday and it's the first time I'm going out with them. I want to show them that I know how to "dress" for the occasion because they seem to always catch me in blue jeans and t-shirts. His parents are well-off and a tad bit conservative so I just want to look well groomed. Could you help me? From what I understand, it's not a really fancy restaurant or anything but nevertheless I want to look conservative and chic at the same time.

Thanks in advance,
Sarah

Well Sarah, this is going to be fun. I love impressing the family honey! For this occasion, let's go with a mid-length skirt and cardigan ensemble. It's conservative and really cute at the same time. I don't want to make you appear to stuffy so we're going to liven it up with a bright color and trendy accessories. See below:

Petite cotton one-button cardigan

Ruched Banded Cami

Kimchi Blue High-Waisted Skirt

The Great Find Clutch

Steve Madden Sonik
I hope this example helped you out Sarah. However, if it's a little too conservative for your tastes then lose the cardigan and replace the cami with a fitted (not tight) short-sleeve shirt and bring in color with either the shirt or the accessories.

TTFN!
