Reader Request - Ideas Please

Greetings Fashion Friends,

I have a reader request to share with you all from fab diva LaShanta,

I need some suggestions on colors to wear with a nautical blue dress.  I was thinking leopard or beige, but I want something very stylish.  Also I want to do a peplum top with skinny jeans, nice accessories for a day party.  And also wanted to an outfit very similar to the one you have on your page w/the orange blazer.  So all together I need ideas for two night parties and two day parties.  I'm searching for a pair of booties, boots, or the wedges that tie, but I'm having a hard time finding a pair.

Okay, LaShanta, these types of requests are my absolute favorite!!! I've created a couple of vision boards below. I couldn't download the dress and shoes into the vision board so I found similar items so you could at least see all the pieces together :-)

I. The first sets below are going to include the request for two night parties. The first two, the blue dress is similar to the one LaShanta sent me. The latter two feature the black strapless peplum she's going to rock.

Reader Request - Party Style V

French Connection / Dorothy Perkins flared coat / Yves Saint Laurent gold heels / H&M , $13 / Topshop / Chanel pendant jewelry, $1,660 / Dolce & Gabbana bronzing powder, $54 / Christian Dior perfume, $77

I'm not sure if you're experiencing frigid temps but if you are, a classic trench would look awesome paired with your bandage dress. Add a chic element like the animal print clutch above for a stylish statement.

Reader Request - Party Time IV

French Connection dress / Christian Louboutin shoes / Black clutch / DANNIJO / Topshop

Above, I let the dress be the focal point and complemented with some exotic accessories and classy and sexy pumps.

Reader Request - Party Time II

Closet peplum dress, $19 / Duccio Venturi leather boots, $460 / Envelope clutch / Versace gold clip earrings / Adina Reyter / Checkered belt, $7.83

For the strapless peplum, an edgy look with booties and a spiked clutch will transform this simple number to a rocker chic vibe!

Reader Request - Party Time

Closet peplum dress, $19 / Strappy heels / Chanel jewelry, $930 / Tory Burch cuff bracelet / Marni black elastic belt

Again, I wanted to allow the dress to be the focal point and add a wow factor with a pair of architecturally inspired heels.

II. The second set of vision boards include the request for two day parties. I wanted to create something that was chic, stylish, but not  'overdone'.....otherwise you would appear to be trying too hard. Style should be effortless and make you feel beautiful and confident :-)

Reader Request - Day Party

Mango sleeveless top, $16 / Reed Krakoff / Current/Elliott leopard pants / GUESS high heel sandals / Dorothy Perkins cross ring / Wallis necklace / Quatrefoil Mirror

You mentioned you liked the idea of rocking an orange blazer. I think that's a great idea! To pull the look together, add a pair of printed skinny jeans and mixed material heels (i.e. metallic and leather)

Reader Request - Day Party

Dorothy Perkins peplum shirt / Dorothy Perkins super skinny jeans / ALDO high heel sandals / Miss Selfridge suede handbag / BCBG Max Azria tribal jewelry / Balmain Ambre Gris, $100

A vibrant peplum top and color enriched accessories will look hot at a day party!

Reader Request - Day Party III

Topshop crop tee / Black jacket / Mango black wide leg pants, $24 / Giuseppe Zanotti leather heels / 3.1 Phillip Lim leather satchel handbag / Emporio Armani plastic jewelry

I love the casual vibe of the above look. I think going against the norm can make you feel empowered, not to mention, garner a lot of attention. Play with print mixing and add pop of color. Be fearless!

I hope you enjoyed the vision boards I created for you LaShanta. The goal was to provide you with some inspiration for the looks you described above. Let me know if you need anything else before your parties.

Ciao!
