Reader Request - Dinner, Bar hopping, Club Part II

Greetings Fashion Friends,

I have Part II of a reader request to share with you all from my girl Ebony:

One of my best friends is getting married soon and for her special pre-celebration we are having a full day of activities.  Its on a Saturday and includes a daytime lingerie shower.  Then we are carpooling for a short road trip and doing dinner, bar hopping, and a club.  THEN back to the hotel for a strip show.  Yeah, a lot!

For the shower,  I'm going to be moving and doing a lot to set up and clean up so too many layers will be restricting I think.  I want to be comfortable for the drive to DC.  For dinner, bar hopping, club - I'm at a loss. I want to be versatile and just be able to switch my shoes and maybe an accessory or two.  I also want to be non-fussy so that I can move about easily.

So now we're focusing on a transitional outfit from dinner to partying. Basically, we'll just start with one piece, and switch up the look by adding a different shoe and accessories. Let's get started.....

Reader Request - Versatile Dress Part III

Party dress, $70
L.A.M.B. stiletto heels, $260
Tory Burch ballet shoes, $235
Anya Hindmarch leather clutch, $550
ASOS foldover clutch, $81
Leopard belt, £20

This first set features a non-fussy dress that is easy to maneuver in. Because you will be doing so much, you may want to wear a fabric that is light and has drape to it. In addition, the drape is perfect for going out after dinner (masks a full stomach). Switching from flats to platforms and adding glam with a sequined clutch will take the dress to the next level.

Reader Request - Versatile Dress Part I

Miss Selfridge ruffle dress, $60
McQ by Alexander McQueen ballet shoes, $326
Giuseppe zanotti sandals, $860
Alexander McQueen leather clutch, $356
Teardrop earrings, $74
Metal jewelry, $55

I love the colorblocking on the dress above. I also love the cinched waist and full skirt. The layers create movement and the simple color palette can be dressed up or down. For dinner, rock a pair of unique and stylish flats. Then, for clubbing, pull out the conversation starters......the monster wedge. You could also add statement jewelry for a more glam look.

Reader Request - Versatile Dress Part II

Dorothy Perkins grey dress, $27
Jessica Simpson high heels, $90
Jessica simpson shoes, $90
Jessica McClintock sequin clutch, $66
Silver bangle, 85 SEK
Long silver earrings, $60
Star necklace, $7.87
Ambre Gris, €48
Marilyn Monroe wall art wall sayings: Home & Garden, $13

You know, I like gray and black because its classic and elegant. However, it can be a bit boring at times. So how do we add punch??? Well, I think a pair of brightly colored heels will do the trick. To off-setting the black and gray, add silver accessories and a sequined clutch.

Reader Request - Bar hopping and Clubbing

Acne racer back tank, €54
Sandro tuxedo jacket, $460
Bodycon skirt, $45
BURAK UYAN black leather booties, $597
Alexander McQueen fold over clutch, $356
Long earrings, $84
Dannijo jewelry, $245
Bobbi Brown Crystal Glitter Lip Gloss, $18

Of course I had to add an edgy outfit to the mix. A blazer, bodycon skirt, and booties are a fierce combination. But add interest with colorblocking the different garments: white blazer, black top, blue bottom.....or whatever is your forte'. A platform bootie can be more gentle on the feet than pumps or sandals.

Reader Request - Bar hopping and Clubbing II

Helmut Lang sheer shirt, £194
Jaeger summer shorts, £55
Giambattista Valli leopard print high heels, $319
Dirty laundry shoes, $40
Valentino handbag, $2,545
ASOS leather clutch, $107
Dannijo art deco earrings, $96
House of Harlow 1960 gold ring, $39
Trading Phrases Inspirational | Inspirational Wall Words |..., $65

Rocking a pair of shorts may not be your first thought.....however, work with me. You could pair an elegant top with a pair of shorts that have extra room in the leg so you won't have to "tug" on the hem all night. Plus, a platform heel will elongate your legs and elevate the glam factor.

Below, I have included several dresses that will fit the request for easy movement (draped dresses) and versatility. The black peplum dress and turquoise one-shoulder dress are a bit mature (meaning they aren't young and fun).....but I included them to give you some more options.
Versatile Dresses for Dinner, Bar hopping, Clubbing

River Island short party dress, $38
Joanne Kitten long dress, $44
NYC Boutique navy blue dress, $35
Zara short dress, $100
ASOS long sleeve cocktail dress, $81
ASOS sequin cocktail dress, $45
River Island one shoulder dress, $30

I hope these options are suitable for you Ebony. We have one more part to complete this request. See you next week ;-)

Arrivederci!
