From Day to Night

Greetings Fashion Mavens,

Today I'm introducing a new segment here on Fashion Pad. We're going to take one garment/accessory and create a "day" look and a "night" look. It's time we start to increase the utility of our wardrobe items. I, for one, am so guilty of not using my clothing/shoes to the max. If you can't create new looks with the items in your closet, then you have to focus on getting more staple, versatile pieces.

The first item we're going to transtion is this conservative dress below.

Oasis dress

Oasis dress (see more zip up dresses)

The above dress by Oasis is a very versatile piece. It can be worn in many settings (i.e. work, dinner, party, church, etc.). Let's put together a day and night look as an example of this item's chameleon ways.
From Day to Night - Part I

Oasis red shift dress, £60
Slouchy cardigan, $80
Black top, $60
Lanvin kitten heel pumps, $850
Trouve leather bag, $228
Worthington south sea pearl earrings, $9.99
The Container Store > Driftwood & Platinum elfa Office Shelving & Desk, $544

As stated above, the cut and style of this dress is perfect for the office, church, business meeting, etc. For a daytime look I decided to pair it with a short-sleeved cardigan and chic, yet conservative kitten heels. I added minimal accessories and a plain but gorgeous carryall.

From Day to Night - Part II

Oasis red dress, £60
Rick owen, £660
Alexander McQueen stiletto high heels, $498
Marni clutch handbag, $755
Alexander McQueen bangle bracelet, $438
Plastic jewelry, $30
A Kiss of Glam Lipstick in Red, $22

For the night time look, I went with a tough, edgy style by mixing in some trendy pieces such as the open-toe booties, spike cuff, and choker. The leather vest really adds interest with a more rocker chic vibe. Last, go all out with a vampy lip in blood red to truly transform this dress.

As you can see, just by switching up a few accessories and garments you can really transform an item from day....to night.

Hope you enjoyed!

Arrivederci!

That dress is perfection! I want the exact one. I have an obsession with red dresses. One of these days if I marry a rich man I'll have a giant closet with a whole section dedicated to red dresses. I just adore the versatility of this particular one. You could wear it from anywhere to a job interview or a club! That's insane! I am dying over the night look. Hot hot hot! Those shoes just kill me, and I love the vest. And that necklace is GORGEOUS!
