Spring Trends - Part III

Greetings Fashionistas,

Happy Friday! I hope you all are going to have a fun-filled weekend :-) I plan on getting myself pampered, going to a music festival, shopping, and enjoying time with the family.

So today is the last day for our spring 2011 trend recap.

First up is............Biker Chic. Oh how I love this trend. I really think it will become a classic. In my book, it already is ;-) What's better than some tough girl additions to a feminine look? It's so exciting.

Mashonda rocks a feminine frock and heels then toughens it up with a leather moto jacket. The biker chic trend was prevalent on the runways as you can see above at Burberry's SS 2011 show.

Check out some "bad" items below:

Left: Dolce Vita Jayce

$149.99 (on sale) www.piperlime.com

Right: FOX Rosalie Women's Tank

A strong motorcycle inspired boot is a bad girl's staple. Also, a slashed tee or tank will also give you that biker chic vibe.

Left: Garcia Motorcycle Denim

$122.00 (on sale) www.reissonline.com

Right: Insanity Vest

$44.00 (on sale) www.quiksilver.com

We can't do biker chic without a pair of rugged jeans and a denim vest. The above two are available at good price points.

Our next spring 2011 trend is..........Crochet. I used to not like crochet due to my clumsy nature. I would always inadvertently tear a crochet item but I've gotten better over the years and I really like the addition of crochet in unexpected areas.

I love this crochet maxi dress at Emilio Pucci's SS 2011 runway show. It's so sexy and gets me in the spirit of summer.

Great bargains below:

Left: Aqua Crochet Sleeveless Cinched Waist Dress

Right: Ojibwa Earrings

You can barely register the crochet detail on the sleeve area of the dress but it's cute and obviously subtle. The earrings are so playful and light.

Left: Crochet Back Top

Right: San Diego Hat

Crochet details can be an outfit enhancer. I love both the details on the top and the design on the hat. Lovely and affordable.

The last trend we will cover for the 2011 season will be........Sheer Fabrics. I am a fan of sheer panels placed strategically on a garment but beyond that, I kind of cringe at an all sheer item. It could be disastrous if not on a beach or poolside. Just saying.

Courtney Cox rocked the sheer trend at the premiere of her movie Scream 4.

Great finds are below:

Left: Sheer Top Alexandria Dress

Right: Micro Tap Pant

A sheer panel placed at an alluring spot is sexy and adds mystery. I love the sheer fabric added to the shorts above. Hot!

Left: ASOS Pleated Maxi Skirt

Right: Sheer Stripes Top

Maxi skirts are on trend this spring as well and when you add a sheer style, you can really become a fashion copycat. However, if you complement with a plain top, understated shoes and bangles, your outfit will seem more personalized than trendy.
