Spring Trends - Part II

Greetings Fashion Divas,

Today we continue our recap of some exciting and very wearable Spring 2011 trends.

First up..........Tassels. I remember when I was young, following my mom to JoAnn's Fabrics, I would associate tassels with curtains, bedspreads, or old furniture. Well, low and behold, it's a fun way to add interest and an ethnic flair to your fashionable style.

Abbie Cornish rocks an LBD and brings the modern flair with a long, black tassled belt. The necklace is fire!!!

Check out a couple of items that you could incorporate into your wardrobe if this trend is up your alley.

Left: Blue Tassel Laced Ruffled Racer Top
$93.00 http://www.zappos.com/
Right: Zambos and Siega Izzy Bag
$143.00 http://www.shopbop.com/

I don't recommend overdoing the tassel trend. A little touch here and there will keep you on trend, as you can see above.

Left: Dolce Vita Nude Greta Sandal

Right: Black Suede Tassel Belt

I know that tassel belt is a little pricey for some so here's my suggestion; go to your nearest fabric store and buy 1 - 1 1/2 yards of you favorite tassel style and just wrap it around your waist. Should be no more than $10 bucks.

Now, moving on to our next spring trend........Cat-Eye Sunglasses. I am not totally in love with this style for my personal style. I think mainly because it just reminds me of a novelty item. However, I do appreciate how they frame the face of others and how muchof a conversation starter they are. They're a vintage love!

Now I would love the pair that Hilary Duff is rocking above. They are huge...just the way I like my sunglasses. Necole Ritchie's glasses are from her line, House of Harlow. They are cute as well and a little understated. But the size is huge (yes!). They run about $140 bucks as well. Not that bad.

Work your way down to see some affordable ones.

Left: Plum Wing Stud Detail Cat Eye Glasses

Right: Ray-Ban Modern Cat Sunglasses

I prefer the style on the right but for those of you who love this trend, the plum pair is a fun find. But make sure your outfit consists of basics if you're going to sport this flashy pair ;-)

Left: Tuscumbia $12.00 http://www.aldoshoes.com/

Right: Women's Two-Toned Cat's-Eye Sunglasses

Great price points and subtle cat-eye influenced style will give the above two sunglass pairs longevity.

Are you guys a fan of either of these trends???
