Just Cut Them Off

Greetings Fashion Friends,

It's hump day so pat yourself on the back for getting halfway through the week without going insane, lol. Just kidding, there is a lot I can be thankful for and working and living towards my dream is just a small piece of the pie :-)

So friends, I have been following this trend of denim cutoffs for a while and I initially decided not to post anything on it. I mean, it's not something everyone can really enjoy in my opinion. But I digress, it can certainly be a trend that you can make your own. We'll explore some options later but first let's check out some celebrity divas working the trend.

Miley Cyrus looks cute and relaxed in her denim cutoffs. Beyonce flexes her toned legs in her cutoffs while out and about in NYC.

Kate Bosworth wore a pair of J Brand “1043” shorts in neptune while out in New York City. The shorts retail for $158 and are available for purchase at:

Now, let's talk further about this trend as we critique the options below.

Current-Elliott Trash Wash Cut Off Shorts
$59.00 (on sale) http://www.singer22.com/
This pair of shorts will work well for a really petite person with slim thighs. As you can see, the crotch area only extends to about 1 inch length of fabric. That's your clue to let you know that the shorts are going to be extremely short. Possible butt cheek exposure guys.

Blank Denim Studded Cut Off Short in Raw Meat
This low waist dark wash is unforgiving to the female with ample hips. The cut of the shorts doesn't really allow them to mold well with a hippy shape. So while you may feel that you have selected your correct size, more than likely the fit is going to be pretty snug and hella uncomfortable.

Anlo Cammie Cut-off Shorts

Okay, I'm loving these shorts. The length is adequate and the slight flared opening allows room for larger thighs. I just wish they had this style in a darker wash.

Frayed Cut-Off Short
This style is definitely for our teeny boppers. It's completely geared for the "no hip, minimal derriere, slender thigh junior".

Yeaahhh! This short works well for all shapes in my opinion. Here's why. The length is tasteful but still allows you to feel like you're wearing short shorts instead of bermudas. Also, there is a lot of room on both the side seam area and the leg opening area. This tells me these cut-offs are able to fit our curvy and pear shaped women well and will look relaxed and boho chic on our willowy divas. I like!

Are you guys going to get a little trendy with this style?
