Reader Request - First Date Dilemma

Greetings Fashion Pad Readers,

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! I know I did! I spent quality time with my nephew and didn't tire me out as much as I thought....thank goodness :-) We did attend the fashion show that students from my school were involved in and it was a real treat. Those pictures will be forthcoming, it's just that Eric and I are weeding through them and trying to develop a composition....hopefully. Anyhew, I have a reader request to share with you all from JD.

Hey Shanequa!

I am a daily reader of your blog and I love and trust your fashion insight. I consider myself to be pretty stylish, but I've recently hit a little style speed bump and am in need of assistance. I've met this great guy and I've already got the, "What should I wear" worries. I'm not a dress or skirt girl, so those are out. I know that I want to wear skinny jeans and some sexy heels, but I'm not sure what else to cover my body with! The temperature is cool where we'll be meeting so I need something with sleeves, but I'm not sure if I want to wear a sweater, long sleeve blouse, cardigan, jacket, or what? I usually don't trip this much about a date, but I feel different about this one. Please help!!

Thank you in advance!

Awww, the first stirrings of love....I'm such a romantic at heart, lol. Well JD, I've got you covered. I've created a slew of outfits that I hope you will be inspired to use. I'm not sure where your first date is or the type of environment so I included dressy and casual outfits.

Okay, if you guys are headed to a concert, jazz club, etc. I think spicing up your look with some sequins (just a peak) underneath a super fly blazer will really say "stylish, classy, diva). Throw him off with some edgy jewelry like a studded cuff or chain linked bracelet.

First Date - Part II

They say that the color red is very seductive....and almost everyone looks good in it. Those red pumps will really bring the fire by themselves but you can either complement them with a white tee underneath a cardigan or go with a red shirt. The acid wash jean look really sets a nice contrast to the red. This look is also great for the above scenario or dinner.

Look hot without even trying. I really think a belted cardigan looks great on a woman because it really pulls the eye to the smallest part of her body.......the waist. The distressed denim lends you a laid back style but those sky high heels lets him know that you're a lady.

The shape of this dolman sweater is very fashion forward and I love the flirty sleeves. Dolman sleeves are very sophisticated with a good pair of fitted jeans and high heels. Incorporate one of fall's trends by sporting some animal print heels or an animal print handbag to spice up the look. Hit the dinner scene or gallery or you could subtract the statement necklace and head to the movies.

First Date - Part IV

Alright, I threw this casual look in just in case you both are "action" people. I dated a guy that took me rock climbing for our first date. I had a fabulous time! I love this origami sleeved sweater. It's comfy yet chic. Tuck your skinnies into a pair of knee high boots, throw in a dash of color with a scarf, and you're good to go.

I really hope this helps JD but if you need any more options please don't hesitate to contact me again.

TTFN!
