Fall '08 Trends - Grunge and Leather

Greetings Fashionistas,

Well, it's day 7 of our coverage of the big trends for Fall '08. For the most part, my style is all over the place, however, I tend to pair girly pieces with edgy or unexpected items. This is why the Fall trend............Grunge and Leather falls into my list of favorites.

The Grunge and Leather look is really a cult following. From the US to Japan, there is always a small facet of society that keeps this look in constant rotation. I'm not into the whole look but I do love to incorporate pieces in my wardrobe. Keep in mind, you don't have to follow a trend from head to toe to be a little modern. Let's take a look at some items that may interest you.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Women's Washed

Leather Dress $828.00 www.bloomingdales.com

Nice dress, not so nice price. However, it does incorporate both leather and grunge looks.

BDG Flannel Button Down

$45.00 www.urbanoutfitters.com

A grunge staple. Usually used as a layering piece and not the focal item.

Alice Leather Flat Boot by Fornarina

$229.00 www.djpremium.com

These leather boots are tough and chic!

Leather Architecture Booties

$99.00 www.modcloth.com

I think these are so unique. I would like to try them out but honestly, they're really not my style. On the other hand, fashion is about taking unexpected risks sometimes.

Diane Von Furstenberg Adame Leather Skirt

$425.00 www.standardstyle.com

I freakin' love this skirt. It looks like it wraps around the curves smoothly.

Slick Rick Sweatshirt $39.99 (on sale)

www.frenchconnection.com

I like the boat scoop neck of this sweater. Pair with skinny jeans and the above black leather boots for a cool look.

Lorna Lace Up Combat Boot

$258.00 www.frenchconnection.com

Another grunge staple. Not really my cup of tea but you can't cover grunge without them.

Cable Knit Armwarmer

$18.00 www.urbanoutfitters.com

This is a fun look that's really big in Japan and Europe right now. Actually, Japan has been rocking this look for a while...especiall in the Harajuku district.

Well that's all for today folks, hope to see you tomorrow for our last day covering my favorite Fall '08 trends.

TTFN!
