Fall '08 Trends - Fur and Fringe

Good Morning,

Hope your weekend is going well! Today is Day 6 of our coverage of Fall '08 trends and I kind of like this trend, well actually, I really love this particular trend..........Fur and Fringe.

Ladies, this can be a hard style to pull off if you don't understand the concept of moderation. Take a look at the pics of Rihanna and Cassie below, the fur vest by Elizabeth and James is the focus of their ensembles and it is the only item made of fur. In other words, there are no matching accessories such as earrings or purse that would just overwhelm the outfit and squander the concept of moderation.

I think both ladies look great but Cassie probably would have looked better with her hair pulled back b/c it looks as if her hair is a part of the vest.

Now take a look at Solange to the right. Overall, I love her eccentric style but the colors don't work here for me. Her fur shrug is gorgeous and could have worked more effectively if it was the only pop of color. Basically, the shoes could have been left at home.

I'm gonna get a black fringe handbag from somewhere this weekend (I already have a brown suede fringe clutch) so I took the liberty of creating an outfit around my soon to have fringe purse.

I went pretty safe with this look but I love it nonetheless.

We'll continue our coverage next Tuesday because for Labor Day.....I'm off labor!
